Esta reportagem que saiu hoje no Globo Ciência fala sobre o trabalho de um brasileiro, chamado Luciano Moreira, pesquisador do Instituto Rene Rachou, Fundação Oswaldo Cruz, Minas Gerais. Ele vem trabalhando há alguns anos com a infecção de
Aedes aegypti com a bactéria Wolbachia e mostrado que estes mosquitos infectados passam a ser refratários ao virus dengue. Luciano tem uma série de trabalhos em importantes revistas internacionais incluindo Cell, PLoS neglected tropical diseases e Nature. Os trabalhos com teste de campo começaram pela Austrália, com resultados surpreendentes. O trabalho do Luciano merece destaque e é um orgulho para todos nós. Abaixo algumas referências importantes:
